Shilpa Kuthi is the brain-child born out of the artistic soul of Sunil Das. He has a student base of 500 students spanned over India and North America, with an age range of 5 to 50+. Art has no boundaries and so does his student demographics. He specializes in teaching water painting, oil painting, charcoal painting, mixed media art, acrylic painting, sketching, understanding the basics of life size human model painting. He teaches per the needs and knack of a student. His teaching style is unique and time proven because he just not only goes by the book; but above and beyond it; so much so that the student falls in love with the art and develops his own drive for it. He has been associated with Bangiya Sangeet Parishad for over 40 years now and is a senior examiner.

For Sunil Ranjan Das paintbrush is the key to his life. He is a visual artist and has been into teaching art for the past 4 decades. He spent his early years growing in Murshidabad (West Bengal, India) and later moved to Durgapur (West Bengal, India).

He began his artistic journey at the very young age of 5. Creative expression is a big part of his life. From a signature style painting on black cloth canvas to Indian art forms like Pattachitra, Mithila, Madhubani, and Kalamkari constantly strives to put a unique stamp on his work – In short “A Colorful serenity of art”.

His family is a circle of strength and love. His wife Smt. Sushmita Das and his loving daughter Samarpita Das, have always extended their love, trust, and support

He takes comfort in knowing no matter which path he chooses; his family stands behind him.!

Sunil’s dream come true, Shilpa Kuthi - The Shilpa Kuthi Academy of Art was founded in 1982 as a school for budding and professional artists. Their classes have traditionally placed an emphasis on preparing students for a career in art. They are home to 500 students across India and North America with an age range of 5 to 50!
